“I cannot say enough good things about A-1 Towing. On the afternoon of April 10, 2026, my 2005 Acura TL had a complete clutch failure and locked the transmission in Reverse gear as I was preparing to back up and then pull my car straight into the garage. I called AAA the following Monday morning to request a service call to have my car towed from my residence to the dealership approximately three miles away from me. I explained that my manual shift transmission was locked in Reverse gear and that the front wheels could not roll otherwise it would damage the drivetrain. They said they would dispatch a towing company and when I asked which one, much to my delight they said A-1 Towing in Chattanooga, which I have always used and who has always treated me fairly. A few minutes later a gentleman called me from A-1 Towing and asked me about the situation with my car. When I explained to him about the manual transmission being locked in Reverse gear, he said that was important to know, because it changed the way my car would have to be transported. He said a driver would contact me shortly and sure enough, a few minutes later, I received a call from a driver named Cody, telling me that he was on his way. He told me that with the car being locked in Reverse gear, it would have to be transported using a dollies system which I had never heard of before then. When Cody arrived he was visibly a young man who introduced himself and went straight to work. I asked him how the dollies system worked and Cody explained that the dollies system would essentially take the place of my four wheels which would all be lifted up off the ground. He did tell me that if there was not enough room in the front to attach what he needed to, he would have no choice but to drag my car enough to get ample clearance and asked if I would be okay with that? I told him I would be, I just hoped it wouldn't be necessary. Fortunately, there was not only enough room for Cody to attach what he neede”

“First and foremost, the tow truck operator, Hector, was great! On my way to work, the rear passenger axle broke and the whole tire came off. I was fine but a little bewildered by the whole situation. AAA was able to get a tow truck on the way quickly. I was back on schedule in less than 2 hours from the time I submitted my request to the time I arrived at work. Shortly after I submitted my request on the AAA app, Hector called to let me know he was on the way. He was very sympathetic to my having need of his service. When he arrived, he was in good spirits, helpful, and very personable. I rode with him to my house to drop off the disabled vehicle and he talked about his family and how much he loves his job. He did a beautiful job of keeping me from being stressed about the situation. When he dropped my truck off at my home, he made sure that it was placed with care and secure. After a startling, rotten start early on a cold Monday morning, Hector came along and really made things better by efficiently getting my disabled vehicle home and having a great attitude the whole way! This was a really excellent customer experience. I will definitely keep renewing my AAA membership and will recommend A1 Towing (especially Hector!) without hesitation.”
