Hickory Towing

“Hickory Towing, our answer to prayer! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. We were on our way from PA to our family vacation in OBX with my wife and 4 kids and our vans alternator failed and left us stranded on a road in Chesapeake Virginia at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. We said a prayer that it would work out and started calling around to repair shops and tow companies and we were told we would probably be looking at Monday to get the car looked at. We kept calling around and reached Matt from Hickory Towing. I told Matt I had 4 teen kids in tow and he said let me figure it out and call you back in 5 min. Matt called back and had a plan for us: he would tow us and the car over to the movie theater and let the family catch dinner and a movie. In the meantime, he would fix up the van and he would hopefully be finished up by the end of the movie and tow the van back to us so we can continue on our way. AND HE DID IT!! He brought the van back about 20 minutes after our movie was over (around 8pm) and Matt himself stopped by to make sure we got on our way safely. Honestly, I still can’t believe that Matt agreed to help us on a Saturday evening and pulled off fixing the van and getting us back on the road. I was also prepared to pay a hefty “weekend tourist” fee and instead I got a very reasonable rate for the services he provided. I even tried to offer a tip to Matt for exceptional service, and he refused and told me to spend it on the kids. Matt and Hickory Towing are the kinds of people and companies that bring joy to this world in challenging circumstances, a glimpse into how we are meant to care for each other. I felt like I got the family and friends6+ treatment from a man who I don’t know and likely wont run into again, I sure hope I do though! God bless you Matt and your family.”

“My mother’s camper got stuck on a barrier pole at Wawa and we were unable to get ahold of an RV towing company. Our roadside assistance could not provide us with a time of assistance and we needed to get to our campground. My mother called Hickory Towing and they answered right away. Asked for a picture and said no problem and were with us in less than 15min. They came over prepared to help, bringing a tow truck and a flatbed truck. They assessed the situation and were easily able to move the camper off the pole. The gentlemen looked over the camper and said the damage was all cosmetic and that there was no damage to the actual rig of the camper. They really went above and beyond and took the camper to their shop and cut all the pieces that were hanging off and made it look neat. They even drove it back to the Wawa for my mother so that she could get gas. They really made my mother feel confident in driving it again. If you ever need towing assistance, Hickory Towing is the place to call! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy our camping trip still!!”
